For its sixth Carte Blanche, the MAH invites John M Armleder (Geneva, 1948), an internationally renowned artist. With more than 500 works in its collection, the museum found in him the ideal curator to continue an unprecedented dialogue between heritage and contemporary creation. The result is Observatoires, a thematic journey in which each room explores a different universe—from animals to abstract painting, musical instruments to lighting fixtures. By juxtaposing the MAH's monumental architecture and its vast collection, Armleder creates a unique display in which each object fits in a way that is as surprising as it is coherent.
Supported by ephemeral structures and layers of superimposition, ordinary and aesthetic objects weave a dialogue that constantly generates new possibilities, inviting visitors to wander and compose their own repertoire of ideas and associations.
